Why, and how does it work?
The SMART Kids instrument rental program is a tool designed
to bridge the gap between need and opportunity.
- The Need - Funding for our school music programs.
- The Opportunity - Students who need to rent
instruments in order to participate in our programs.
When a student rents an instrument from The
SMART Foundation, the proceeds from the rental are made available
to the School Districts through grants.

We at SMART understand that time is a
precious commodity. That is why we have worked hard to make
sure that our rental program is easy and convenient. There
are three ways to rent an instrument:
To obtain your instrument you can come
to the SMART office. During the rental
process you will be asked to supply the name of the school
district that your student is attending. The proceeds from
your rental instrument will then be made available to the
music teachers within that district. Wow!
